Kim Crutz

University of Florida Student Government Spokesperson

Previously Aired On: September 19, 2007 - Listen to the show!

On Monday, September 17, during Senator John Kerry’s speaking engagement at the University of Florida, student Andrew Meyer jumped ahead in the line of questioners waiting to ask the Senator questions. He was taken from the forum and tasered. The video-taped incident of the tasering is all over the internet and been played on national news media such as CNN repeatedly. Andrew Meyer’s pleas “Don’t taser me, bro!” are now famous as the video shows him surrounded and held by several Univeristy of Florida Campus police. Kim Crutz, a senior at the University of Florida and a spokesperson for the Student Government, will discuss the incident and the ensuing focus by the media, student protests against the Campus Police and the pending litigations.
