Adam Kokesh
Iraq Veterans Against The War
Previously Aired On: Wednesday, April 2, 2008 - Listen to the Show!
Former Marine Corps Sergeant Adam Kokesh served in a Civil Affairs Group in Iraq’s Western Anbar Province from February to September 2004. Since his return from Iraq, Kokesh has become a leading activist with Iraq Veterans Against the War. He was arrested for disrupting General Patreaus’ testimony before Congress last September.
In Adam’s own words:
“In November 2006 I was honorably discharged (barely) from the US Marines after my second activation as a reservist. I moved to Washington to get a master’s degree in political management at George Washington University. Fortunately, I was unable to secure gainful employment, and stumbled into full-time activism with Iraq Veterans Against the War. You can email me at adam at ivaw.org. I am more than happy to speak as a representative of IVAW at any event or for any group that supports any of the three objectives of IVAW: end the occupation, take care of the veterans, and pay reparations to the people of Iraq.”
