Filmmakers – ‘Food Matters’

James Colquhoun and Laurentine ten Bosch are nutritionists turned filmmakers. As the creators, directors and producers of the feature film ‘Food Matters’, James and Laurentine’s intention is to reiterate the ancient wisdom of Hippocrates, “let thy food be thy medicine”.

Discouraged by the terrible side effects that pharmaceutical drugs were having on their families health, they set off on a path of discovery in to what other alternatives might exist. After studying Nutrition through the Global College of Natural Medicine in California, they realized that the health challenges within their own families were in fact a very real representation of what was happening the world over.

They discovered that with nutritionally-depleted foods, chemical additives and a tendency to rely upon pharmaceutical drugs, it’s no wonder that modern society is getting sicker. Then add on the high demands made upon our already overburdened health care system and it’s little wonder that doctors and health care practitioners have less and less time to teach people about how to eat and live well. The very information that could prevent people from being there in the first place.

In what promises to be the most contentious idea put forward, the filmmakers have interviewed several world leaders in nutrition and natural healing who claim that not only are we harming our bodies with improper nutrition, but that the right kind of foods, supplements and detoxification can be used to treat chronic illnesses as fatal as terminally diagnosed cancer.

With access to solid information people invariably make better choices for their health and this is exactly what James and Laurentine have done. The ‘Food Matters’ duo have independently funded the film from start to finish in order to remain as unbiased as possible, delivering a clear, concise and hard hitting message to the world. Food Matters.

  1. When is the audio archive coming online? I couldn’t get the stream working, and I am really hanging to hear what these guys have to say – the trailer looks awesome!

  2. The archive should be up in a couple of days. It usually takes up to a week at most. The show was awesome…I learned a lot! Can’t wait to check out the movie.

  3. I have seen the movie and it’s fantastic. I have been agoraphobic for 6 years and I have given up hope. I consider myself my own doctor and have taken supplements as well as eating a wholefoods diet. This doco gave me some insight as to why my current methods may not have been as effective as they could be. I loved this movie and it’s given me new inspiration that I may live my life again. I am starting with Niacin, spirulina and I am going 100% organic. Thankyou for making this movie.

  5. James Colquhoun and Laurentine ten Bosch,

My husband and I are just thrilled with your production, Foodmatters, and we have a very, important request:

My husband had been working as an orthomolecular physician in Toronto, Canada for many years and 2 years ago we relocated our family to Israel. As it turns out, he is the first orthomolecular physician in Israel and it’s a challenge to explain what that is, and that it isn’t dangerous!
It would be wonderful if your film could be made available with Hebrew subtitles so people can buy/view it here, and learn about health. Awareness here is growing, but at a much slower rate than in North America, and sickness levels, especially cancer rates are astronomical.
He is in the process of setting up an orthomolecular clinic here (and cancer center).
Tragically, our own 3 year-old daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma stage 4 exactly 1 year ago, and we spent the entire year complementing her treatment orthomolecularly and saving her life. So, we know first-hand the enormous power of vitamins.

We have contacts here with filmakers who have also relocated to Israel from Canada so perhaps we could put everyone together. In any case, I do hope we can arrange the translation because there is so much education needed here to help turn the situation from sickness to the path of health.

    Thank you,

Maya Litman (and Dr. Melvin Litman)
From Toronto, Canada to Meitar, Israel

  6. Glad you are doing something about it. All the things in food today are effecting the age children are entering puberty. It can not be a good thing. Plastics and their chemicals might be the cause. Simple things like glass bottles would help again.
