Brad Friedman is an investigative citizen journalist/blogger, political commentator and broadcaster. He is the Creator and Managing Editor of The BRAD BLOG.

Do you care more for the truth, or is deceit preferable? If you genuinely
care about freedom and liberty, read this; otherwise, don’t bother,
I’ll try to be concise. It’s not uncommon for companies to steal a product
or ideas.Sherwin-Williams stole a copyrighted video from me, stole a
caulking system from Richard Parks, stole a trailer full of paint and
$22,000 from Tony Katsaralis (American Painting Co).Richard Parks has money
, so he’s suing. Me…I’m just a bucket and brush painter…so I’m just
telling everybody.
What did I first do? I sent out a few post cards and letters, talked to
people at meetings and conventions,and as a PDCA ( Painting and Decorating
Contractors of America) member. asked the PDCA for help. What then
happened? To try silence me, Sherwin-Williams and their law firm, Jones
Day, filed an injunction against me, and later used PDCA to terminate my
membership and sue me.
I’m a Navy veteran and I know how to kick back at the night. When I dug my
heels in Sherwin-Williams came to CT. to talk. Sherwin-Williams first said
that they themselves would sue me.I told them I liked a good David and
Goliath fight so go ahead and sue me.Before they left town, Conway Ivy
asked me to sue Sherwin-Williams. Yeah…like I’m stupid enough to play
that hand .No thanks, I’ll wage my fight in the street and in the Court of
Public Opinion. As Cornelius Vanderbilt said, ” Gentlemen, I will not sue
for the court of law is to slow; I’ll just ruin you.”
Back up a moment. At one of those conventions in Las Vegas in January 2004,
Bob Miller,President of PDCA ,( currently no longer a member) came up to me
and told me I was forbidden to talk about what Sherwin-Williams did to me.
What? I’m forbidden to talk about it! I just started shouting louder. At
another convention in Virginia Beach, Va.in April of 2004, Bill Shoup CEO
of SSPC ( Society of Protective Coatings) and I spoke. ( In order to share
the cost of a convention and to increase attendance, PDCA and SSPC had
recently agreed to hold thrir first joint show the following year.)
Sherwin-Williams was a Gold sponsor of this forthcoming joint convention
and because ” I was a problem” , contrived with SSPC to have PDCA attack
me. PDCA then rushed to expel me, and in doing so , ignored all legal
procedures and their own bylaws. Without my knowledge and without my
presence, PDCA held a secret meeting, slandered and libeled me, and shortly
thereafter sued me, After I told PDCA to take their law suit against me and
screw off. they dropped the lawsuit.
Alright, so Sherwin-Williams steals…what happened here is far greater
significance than stealing. Sherwin-Williams and their law firm, Jones Day,
along with PDCA, orchestrated and carried out a campaign to discredit and
slander me, and to deny me rights guaranteed to me by the Constitution and
Bill of Rights- all in the hope to shut me up. I’ve now sent out many
thousands of cards, letters, and emails telling the truths of what happened
and denouncing Sherwin-Williams, Jones Day,and PDCA as thieves, terrorists,
and traitors. My 2 websites discuss all these facts in greater detail and

Neither Sherwin-Williams, Jones Day, PDCA, or SSPC has ever denied anything
I’ve said or written about them. Sherwin-Williams in fact validated
everything by coming to CT to talk with me, and PDCA likewise admitted
guilt by dropping their lawsuit.Do you actually think even for a second
that one of the world’s largest law firms, Jones Day wouldn’t come after me
with all 2,800 of their top attorneys if I lied? Understand that today,
right now, Sherwin-Williams,PDCA, SSPS, and Jones Day substantiate my
position. They are afraid to engage me and their only defense is a
foolish hope I will loose heart and give up the fight. Truth and facts can
be stubborn. Jones Day can’t and won’t sue me, neither will
Sherwin-Williams, PDCA, or SSPC. They can’t sue the truth, can’t sue free
speech, can’t sue the Constitution or Bill of Rights. They can’t “sue away”
what they did.
Some fights you walk away from; not this one. I will not stop telling the
truth, I will not stop defending freedom and liberty. I will continue
telling everybody and I will continue to build support in the Court of
Public Opinion: I shall prevail. “There is no survival without victory.” (
Churchill) Simple as that.
So why do I send this to you? Do you care? An American should care. If you
work for Sherwin-Williams you should be incensed at management and their
lack of moral integrity and total disregard of the law. Tell Chris Connor
you care. If you’re a PDCA member tell your National Board representatives
their actions are reprehensible, cowardly, and unforgiven. The law firm
Jones Day, rather than defend the law and protect American citizens,
manipulates and distorts the law and denys citizens’ rights. The clients of
Jones Day should care. Companies espousing ethics, respect for the law, and
who value freedom, liberty, and the individual American should be wary of
Jones Day.
Every American should care when a fellow citizen’s rights and liberties are
violated and denied. Do you need to be reminded of our American Revolution
and courage of our founding fathers? The preservation of our freedoms and
liberties rests upon the sincerity with which we value them. The center of
our character and ethical integrity from which we live our daily lives is
both our affirmation and our continuing defense of these liberties, and we
should , to quote Churchill, “Never give in, never give in, never, never,
never, never-in nothing great or small, large or petty- never give in
except to convictions of honor and good sense” and conscience.
