Shannon Lee is an American actress and daughter of Bruce Lee and his widow Linda Lee Cadwell. Shannon’s brother was the lateactor and martial artist Brandon Lee. Shannon’s father, Bruce Lee, was an American-born martial artist, philosopher, instructor, and actor widely regarded as the most influential martial artist of the 20th century.

Shannon was born in Los Angeles, California, the second child to Bruce and Linda Lee. Shannon and her family lived in Hong Kong from 1971 to 1973, after which her mother moved back to the United States following the death of her father. She has Chinese, German, Swedish and English descent.

On Monday, September 17, during Senator John Kerry’s speaking engagement at the University of Florida, student Andrew Meyer jumped ahead in the line of questioners waiting to ask the Senator questions. He was taken from the forum and tasered. The video-taped incident of the tasering is all over the internet and been played on national news media such as CNN repeatedly. Andrew Meyer’s pleas “Don’t taser me, bro!” are now famous as the video shows him surrounded and held by several Univeristy of Florida Campus police. Kim Crutz, a senior at the University of Florida and a spokesperson for the Student Government, will discuss the incident and the ensuing focus by the media, student protests against the Campus Police and the pending litigations.

Since being elected in 1992 as the first African-American Congresswoman from Georgia, Cynthia Ann McKinney has gained national and international renown as a tireless advocate for human rights, voting rights and holding government accountable. McKinney’s voting record reflects her philosophy that government should serve to provide uplift to local communities and the dignity of the human spirit. This means promoting the rights of seniors, students, the disabled, minorities, veterans and workers. She was known as a passionate, intelligent, charismatic and effective member of the House of Representatives and of the Democratic Party.

Giovanni di Stefano is a European lawyer based in Italy who frequently works in the United Kingdom. He has made a reputation advising the defense in high-profile criminal cases in English and international courts. He gained the nickname “the Devil’s Advocate” in the UK media for representing some of the most notorious defendants. He is a colourful and controversial figure, described in one source as “surely the only man in the world to claim the personal friendship of Saddam Hussein and the personal enmity of Delia Smith”.

Di Stefano was on the defense team in the trial of Saddam Hussein and also wrote a letter on behalf of Tariq Aziz (formerly the most visible figurehead under the Saddam Hussein government) to the Vatican asking that Mr. Aziz be granted a provisional release and allowed to stay in Italy until such time of of any trial by Iraq. Mr. Di Stefano has reported that Mr. Aziz has a serious heart condition and suffering from emphysema.
